What to expect from your special day at sea with us
Whether you have ever been at sea before or not, here are a few thoughts and suggestions that might make your experience more comfortable.
Arriving at the Marina
Your personal service coordinator will provide you with the gathering and departure time on the day of your visit to sea. We recommend that you arrive at the marina with enough time to spend a few moments gathering your belongings, visiting the restrooms, and generally relaxing before departure. Typically, a uniformed Great Burial Reef® staff member will meet you at the marina entrance, and assist you with parking and directions to the appropriate yacht.
What to Wear
You will be on a moving luxury yacht. Please dress comfortably. We request that you wear non skid shoes (sneakers, Crocs®, sandals, etc.) to facilitate moving around on the vessel. Depending on the weather, you should dress accordingly – you will be exposed to direct sunshine so you definitely want to be comfortable. We recommend a hat for fair skinned guests, and sunglasses are highly recommended for everyone.
What to Bring With You
Our hope is that you’ll bring a camera, anything special you’d like to share during the dedication ceremony, and any personal belongings you may wish to have with you. We will provide chilled bottled water and dry snacks. You are more than welcome to bring anything to eat or drink you wish, but we respectfully request that you avoid red wine (our yachts are white), and that you avoid glass or china containers.
For those guests who anticipate problems with sea movement, we recommend Dramamine or a similar product. As your experience is completely paid for at the time of your reservation, and as our staff is taken care of, no money should be necessary.
