Meet the founders

Great Burial Reef® founders: Andrew Whitaker (VP) and Jason Rew (CEO)

Jason B. Rew, Founder and CEO

Great Burial Reef’s® visionary founder, CEO and President Jason B. Rew was born on Florida’s west coast and spent much of his life in and around the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. An avid marine enthusiast, Jason holds a special affinity for the sea, and for the marine communities which it contains.

Jason spent several years on Wall Street with The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., and also has considerable mortgage industry expertise, including an assignment as an assistant program director at Fannie Mae®. With a strong entrepreneurial background and spirit and a renown passion for helping people, he actively participates in family service planning, and oversees the sales, marketing, and growth and expansion of Great Burial Reef®.

Jason lives in Seminole, Florida, is married, and is the proud father of two children, with a third expected in May 2012.

Andrew L. Whitaker, Co-Founder and Vice President

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Andrew Whitaker has been part of Great Burial Reef® since the beginning. Prior to joining Great Burial Reef®, he worked extensively in the upscale hospitality industry, most notably at the world famous Peabody Orlando Hotel. He has also directed quality assurance projects for the home care industry.

With over twenty years of hospitality and quality assurance experience, Andrew is responsible for daily company operations, and delivering exceptional family service to each and every family served by Great Burial Reef®.

Andrew lives in Saint Petersburg, Florida. In his spare time, he participates in reenactments of the 1840’s pioneer era as a craft demonstrator, and actively supports the local arts.
